Unit 1 Foundations of Psychology: Standard SSPFR 1 - 2
Unit 1 Summary: Unit 1 contains information pertaining to the history of psychology beginning with basic Greek philosophical inquiry through its formation as the scientific study of mental processes and behavior beginning in the late 19th century. Students will learn about the major approaches (perspectives) of psychology, and begin to associate key terminology and names with these perspectives. Also, this unit contains the basic research methods used by psychologists including: scientific method, descriptive research, correlation studies, and the experiment. This unit provides the foundation for the entire course of study. |
